Go West was formed in 1982 by Peter Cox and Richard Drummie and quickly signed to Chrysalis Records. They broke through with their debut single, ‘We Close Our Eyes’ which hit number 5 in the UK and US charts in 1985. This was soon followed by further hits ‘Call Me’ and ‘Don’t Look Down’, all taken from their debut album ‘Go West’

The album ‘Dancing On the Couch’ followed in 1987 but it wasn’t until their 1990 track ‘The King of Wishful Thinking’ that they broke through into the US mainstream market. The song was the lead single from the smash hit film ‘Pretty Woman’ and was featured on the multi-platinum soundtrack album.
